Nathalie Bruys

Nathalie Bruys (Dordrecht 1975) uit Amsterdam studeerde aan de afdeling Voorheen Audiovisueel van de Rietveld Academie en aan het Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. Zij specialiseerde zich in geluidskunst en maakt in dat kader muziek, geluidstukken, radio, performances, installaties, maar ook tekeningen, video’s, platen en cd’s. Voorts treed zij regelmatig op als dj. Zij presenteerde werk bij de Kunstvlaai, SMBA, De Appel, Marres, GEM, SMAK, SM’S, Watou, De Paviljoens, Dot.nu, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Van 2001 tot 2003 woonde Bruys in Berlijn. In 2004 won ze de Charlotte Kohler Prijs. In 2005 realiseerde het project Silence At Work op het advocaten kantoor Kennedy Van der Laan in Amsterdam. In 2006 won ze de Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst Prijs. Sinds 2008 is zij Artist in Residence bij het ministerie van OCW.
